Pre workout banana coffee

I have been drinking bulletproof coffee in the mornings for a while. Its not the actual bulletproof brand,  but a local coffee brand, butter and coconut oil. I have found it great for getting lean, for stimulating my creativity for writing blogs, and improving my cognitive function. I also found that after drinking the coffee, I would not feel hungry for 5-6 hours and would have to remind myself to eat!


I had cut weight for a mma fight and since the fight I wanted to put on a bit of weight and go up a weight class, so I stopped with the bulletproof coffee in order to get more meals in. I have always used coffee as a drug before training and I would eat a little bit of fruit 1 hour before , so I came up with this pre workout drink to take a hour before training. Its the regular bulletproof coffee, so fresh coffee, 1 tablespoon unsalted butter,1 tablespoon coconut oil, then I added 1 scoop protein powder and 1 banana gently fried in butter.

First heat the cups and the blender as you’ll want the liquid to remain warm. Slowly melt some butter in a pan, cut into quarters, add 1 banana (sliced) and gently heat. Add the coffee to the blender, add 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter, 1 tablespoon coconut oil, 1 scoop protein powder and finally the fried banana. Now blend for 20 seconds or until the mixture is smooth and has no lumps.
